Partey named in CAF’s 34-man list for African Player of the Year

Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey has been named in the 34-man list which will be shortlisted for to 3 men.

Partey is the only Ghanaian to appear in the list and is competing with last year’s winner Mohammed Salah and runners-up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sadio Mane.

Partey, who has also been nominated for the BBC African Footballer of the Year Award alongside Salah, Aubameyang, Mane and Koulibaly won the Europa League with his club, Atletico Madrid.

He became an important part of Diego Simeone’s side last season playing a more central role.

The Awards Gala will be held on Tuesday 8 January 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.
