The Director of Passports, Amonor Daku Mante has indicated his Office will publish the names of Ghanaians who have not picked up their passports from their office.
In a radio interview on Accra based Citi FM, he stated that “We have over 67,000 passports which have been issued but not collected. Why because, most of the applicants don’t even use their correct address.”
The 67,000 people he believes applied for the passport through middlemen popularly called Goro boys and as a result it difficult to get to contact them.
“We have tried on a lot of occasions and we are not getting through to them”.
“Very soon…I think this week we are going to publish all the names of those uncollected passports. But let me also state that we have put in an IT system that will alert anybody who applies for a passport will get an SMS,” he delineated when asked about when they are going to publish the list.
