Ghana Physicians Assistants Association has indicated they have withdrawn Out Patient Department services after their demands for going on strike have not been met.
They indicated at the start of their strike that if their demands are not met by 17 September 2018, they will withdraw from the OPD and emergency services.
According to reports gathered, the leaders of the association were to meet with officials but that could not happen as both parties could not agree on the meeting time.
Since the Physician Assistants are most of the time posted to the rural areas especially, their absence will affect the health sector immensely.
As at now, no official information has been given as to when the officials and the Physicians Assistants will meet.
Last week, it was reported that the absence of the Physician Assistants has caused congestion at some hospital in Accra.
Nonetheless, the Minister of Health will meet the leadership of the Physician Assistants Association in Accra to find a solution to their problem.
