Yesterday, a family claimed the police at Nsuta in the Ashanti region has asked them to pay a sum of GHC 3, 000 as bail before their relative will be released.
The police after hearing the accusation denied the accusation the family is levelling against them.
According to the police, the said persons in their custody shot a Fulani herdsman while they [the men in their custody] were going to ‘arrest’ a Fulani they alleged had raped a woman.

The Fulani man they shot has been admitted to the hospital and they have not even paid his hospital bill.

The police, however, are even shocked as to why they would ask for money before they can give the men bail because it is against the law.
They have denied the accusations but the family are still claiming they were asked to pay the said amount.
