A woman whose name has been as Madam Constance has been forced to pay for the hospital bills of a man who robbed him.
The thief and his accomplices stole ¢3, 700 from the woman’s house and her metre. Unfortunately for the thief, he was caught and beaten by the residents in the area before the police came to rescue him.
However, Madam Constance said she was told by the police that they will not arrest him if she does not take him to the hospital.
Narrating her story, the woman told Kessben FM that she also paid for the transportation fare whenever they took the thief to court.
She added that she has been told the man has been jailed for a year, however, she does not believe it as she does not trust the police especially with how the policemen at Kodei in the Ashanti Region behaved.
‘The policeman handling the case said I was on the final day so they have jailed the man for a year.’
‘I have not seen anything that shows that the man has been jailed.’
‘He said he has been sent to Central’ Prison in Kumasi.
Also, she indicated that she has not been given the money which was stolen by the thief since he got arrested. She also revealed that she spent over ¢700 on the thief’s transportation.
Madam Constance was shocked when the wife of one of the thieves came to her house to ask for the slippers her husband left behind.
According to her, the woman came to her house and said ‘her husband came to rob her but she left his slippers there so she is coming for it’.
Madam Constance then said she told the woman to tell her husband to come for it himself. She also indicated that she reported the woman to the police but they are not willing to arrest the woman to reveal the identity of her husband.
