Police launch manhunt for woman who inflicted knife wounds on neighbour

Authorities are currently on a manhunt for a woman identified as Philo, following an incident where she reportedly inflicted knife wounds on her friend’s neighbor in the Awutu Senya District of the Central region.

The unfortunate incident took place between Philo’s friend and the victim, Mariama, who live as neighbors in a compound house. According to reports by UTV, the two ladies had engaged in a heated fight two months prior to the recent incident, during which Mariama had cut her neighbor’s finger.

The initial altercation had been reported to the police, and they were able to mediate and resolve the matter peacefully, advising the parties involved to live in harmony.

However, on Thursday, July 28, 2023, at approximately 7 am, Mariama was attacked by Philo while she was innocently brushing her teeth on the compound. Philo stated that her actions were driven by a sense of vengeance for the previous incident involving her friend.

The UTV reporter shared, “Just yesterday, about 7 am in the morning when Mariama was brushing her teeth before she realized, a lady called Philo, whose friend is the one who had an earlier fight with Mariama started inflicting knife wounds on her. She asked what she had done and Philo said she had told her earlier that she was avenging the incident where her friend was cut. After this, she left to her room.”

Following the attack, Mariama’s father found her on the compound, covered in blood and wounded, prompting him to rush her to the hospital immediately. The incident has been officially reported to the police, who have launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
