The local authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic demise of an 18-year-old female student from Nsutam Senior High Technical School in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region. The incident occurred last Thursday and has left the community in shock.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Abigail Asare, a second-year General Arts student, was allegedly stabbed to death by Michael Osei, a barber by profession. The lifeless body of Abigail was discovered at Osei’s barber shop in Nsutam on June 1, 2023. It is believed that Abigail had visited Osei, who happened to be her boyfriend, at his shop that fateful day.
Sources indicate that Abigail had left school after the vacation period and decided to pay Osei a visit before heading home. Tragically, the situation took a grim turn, leading to her untimely demise. Osei, the primary suspect, is currently at large, and law enforcement agencies are diligently working to apprehend him.
Preliminary information gathered by the police at Nsutam, in collaboration with officers from the Kyebi Divisional Police Command, suggests that Osei allegedly accused Abigail of infidelity, which reportedly triggered a heated argument. The altercation escalated to a point where Osei resorted to multiple acts of stabbing, ultimately resulting in Abigail’s tragic death.
In response to this distressing incident, Abigail’s body has been transported to the Kyebi Government Hospital morgue, where a thorough autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
