President Akufo-Addo has issued a heartfelt appeal to the Christian Council and the wider religious community in the nation, urging them to devote their prayers to the well-being of the country. In a meeting with the new Chairman of the Christian Council, Right Rev. Dr. Hilliad Della Dogbe, at the Jubilee House, the President requested their intercession.
Furthermore, the President called upon the Council to beseech divine guidance for the populace. He emphasized that not every individual elected to a leadership role should be painted with the broad brush of dishonesty and corruption. He asserted that this prayer was essential to instill hope in the people, fostering a more balanced perception of their leaders.
President Akufo-Addo expressed his disappointment with the prevailing perception that many public leaders are inherently corrupt, suggesting that some of them may have succeeded in the private sector. He encouraged the public to maintain hope by recognizing the presence of anti-corruption institutions and agencies that rigorously oversee the government’s activities.
In response to the President’s request, Right Rev. Dogbe assured the Christian community’s commitment to praying for divine guidance and the safeguarding of the nation.
