Baba Iddrisu’s exclusion from Ghana’s World Cup Squad for Qatar 2022 has come as a shock to him and those around him.
The Real Mallorca defensive midfielder was substituted when his club played Athletico Madrid last Saturday due to an injury.
The initial report was that the 26-year-old would not recover from the injury before the tournament starts, however, new reports indicate that the player was substituted due to muscle overload.
According to the report, Iddrisu was told he needed only seven days of rest for him to be fit again but unfortunately for him, Black Stars coach Otto Addo dropped him from the final squad.
“#7 days just 7 days”, Iddrisu said in a tweet with an emoji attached to the tweet.
Iddrisu would be fit before Ghana plays its first World Cup game against Portugal.
Iddrisu has been Ghana’s defensive midfielder since making his debut and has been playing alongside Thomas Partey in the midfield role.
