My attention has been drawn to a news report carried by the Ghanaian Times on Wednesday, April 22, headlined, “Osei Bonsu before court over forgery, fake NEIP beneficiaries list”, and react as follows:
That, the said report, is not only misleading but laced with factual inaccuracies, I find damning.

Nana Osei Bonsu granted bail over forged NEIP letterhead and fake NEIP beneficiary list
I am not standing trial in any court for forging anybody’s signature or document, as the publication, sought to portray, something, which in any case, I will never do.
It should not be difficult to verify this from the Juaben Circuit Court or the Ejisu police.
There was this message forwarded to me, containing a list of people, said to have benefited from NEIP financial support, and I found my name right in there.
Naturally, it should not be unexpected that, I will ask questions, especially, when I have not applied or received any money from the Program and I did just that.
I have nothing against Mr. John Kumah, the Chief Executive Officer of the NEIP, who is in the race for the Ejisu Constituency parliamentary ticket of the New Patriotic Party. I must however, say, that I am not a fan of his.
His aide, Dominic Danquah, driven purely by political mischief, and who, as far as I know is neither a member of the Management nor Board of the NEIP and does not even work with the Program, has run to file a complaint of publishing fake news with the Ejisu Police against me.
Yes, I was in court, on Monday April 20, to answer a charge of publishing fake news, and I pleaded not guilty.
I therefore find this “make up” accusation of forgery, which was not on the charge sheet, read in open court, baffling. Where is this coming from? Who is behind it, and what is the motivation? Can it be a contempt of court?
Telling absolute untruths about innocent people and digging dirt on them, is wrong, shameful, ugly and not a noble thing for anybody to do.
That, the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, was the one who stood surety for me, is another plain and wicked lie – falsehood contained in the report.
Signed
Nana Osei Bonsu
