Former Arsenal winger, Robert Pires has tipped his fellow World Cup winner, Marcel Desailly to coach his country of birth, Ghana in 2019.
“I wish he is given the chance to coach Ghana because he was a great football player and has enough experience to give good advice to young players. He also has the coaching badges so I think he can be the next manager of Ghana,” Pires told Starr Sports.
The former Chelsea and AC Milan player played for France and won the World Cup in 1998. Though he did not play for Ghana, Desailly, born Odenke Abbey has expressed his desire to coach the Black Stars.
Kwesi Appiah’s contract ends in 2019 after the African Cup in Cameroon and Pires as well as some fans are tipping Desailly who holds a UEFA Pro License to get the Black Stars coaching job.
