Saape linguist murdered

The Chief Linguist for Saape near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, Ofori Mensah has been shot dead while on his way home.

Before his demise, the late Ofori Mensah left home to buy drugs for his sick uncle. He had to go to the next town to buy the drugs since there is no pharmacy in their area.

A few metres to his home, a gunshot was heard and the late Ofori Mensah was heard screaming.

One of his neighbours rushed to the scene and saw the late linguist in a pool of blood.

He was pronounced dead when they took him to the hospital.

The late linguist was among the men who demarcate land in their area and it is believed he was shot due to a land dispute.

Police are now investigating the incident to find those behind the murder of the late linguist.
