The players of San Pedro after the final whistle in their game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium chased the referee off the field.
The South African referee, Eugene Nkosinathi Mdluli after the final whistle had to head straight to the dressing room to avoid being attacked by the San Pedro players who were chasing him.
Kotoko won the game 1-0 through Nabby Keita’s penalty kick in the 95th minute after Sogne Yacouba was brought down.
The Ivorian side earlier in the game had appealed for two penalties but the referee did not heed to their calls.
After the game, the San Pedro players rushed the referee who also quickly left the pitch and went straight to the dressing room without a police escort.
