On Friday, the governing body of football in Ghana, the Ghana Football Association, announced that it has banned Unity FC from the Division One League (Zone 1B) in order to preserve the sporting integrity of the competition.
This decision was reached by the GFA Disciplinary Committee, which had charged the club with missing seven matches in the Division One League.
As a result of this decision, all opposing clubs scheduled to play against Unity FC will be awarded three (3) points and three (3) goals.
Furthermore, the GFA has imposed a fine of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc10,000.00) on Unity FC, which must be paid to the GFA.
Unity FC has been notified of this decision, which means that the club will not be allowed to participate in any organised GFA competitions.
