Reports from Asunafo South indicate a soldier had his hand cut in a forest in the area.
The incident happened when he and other soldiers went to the forest to prevent illegal lumbering.
According to reports, the DCE of the area, Osei Bonsu Snr, weeks ago promised to protect the forest from illegal lumbering.
While some people were protecting the forest, other people were secretly cutting down the trees.
In other to succeed in protecting the forest, the soldiers came in to help fight the illegal lumbering.
The soldiers found some men cutting down the trees in the forest and after confronting them, one of the men attacked the soldier and cut his hand.
The injured soldier was rushed to Goaso Government Hospital for medical attention.
After the incident, soldiers were seen in cars heading to the area.
