The President Cup’s match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak has divided the fans of Kotoko.
The two clubs will be facing each other on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and some fans of Kotoko want the game to be called off.
According to them, they have a match against Etoile Sportive du Sahel in the CAF Champions League which is more important than the President Cup.
Apart from the fact that the Champions League game is more important than the President Cup, the fans are also saying they cannot trust the Hearts players.
According to them, the Hearts players might intentionally injure their players and those who want the game to be called off are citing the broken shin Gideon Baah got as an example.
In March 2010, Baah had his shin broken while playing for Kotoko against Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Baah spent over a year on the sideline and scored for Kotoko in his first game against Might Jets in 2012 in the Premier League.
Those who want the game to come on believe that it will give the coach the perfect opportunity to know how prepared his team is especially when they lost to their regional rivals, Obuasi Ashanti Gold in the B.K Adusei Cup.
At the moment, the game will come on and those who want the game to be called off wants the coach to use his second team to face their arch-rivals.
But using the second team also has its consequences as some Kotoko fans believe their second team might fall to their arch-rivals.
