The assistant coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, John Smith has said some of the players in the team are being played in the wrong position.
Without mentioning any names, he said: “I know some of the players, I even watched them play a friendly game last Friday, I will discuss with the senior coach why certain players should have their position changed on the field, to bring the best out of them, I am a type of coach who doesn’t put pressure on managers to buy players, I prefer to build players rather.”
His comment comes after some players have complained about being played out of position especially Empem Dacosta who was coached by Smith at Karela United.
The Post understands some of the management members of Kotoko have told the coach to play the players being played out of position to be played at their right positions.
Smith further asked the fans of Kotoko to remain calm as he and the coach will build a formidable team.
“Fans of Kotoko should just have a little patience with the team, I am coming to help build a formidable side which is capable of competing against any team, so we should all hope for a better future for the club,” he remarked.
