Southampton to train coaches in Kumasi to help Kotoko scout for players

As part of Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s partnership with English football club Southampton, the English club will soon train coaches in Kumasi.

Nana Yaw Amponsah, Asante Kotoko CEO in an interview on Oyerepa said their sponsors, Ceek VR paid for the option that would allow Southampton to train coaches in Kumasi for free.

The training of coaches is to enable to them scout for players for Asante Kotoko as the club would soon start its academy.

After appointing the Kotoko board, the Asantehene charged them to ensure that the club establish its own academy within three years.

Apart from training people to assist Kotoko to scout for players, Southampton will also give technical assistance to Asante Kotoko technical team.
