Former Asante Kotoko goal poacher, Saddick Adams has asked former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Thomas Abbey to stop making unnecessary excuses for losing the 2017 MTN FA cup final.
Abbey in an interview with Angel FM in Accra revealed that they refused to train prior to the match and that had an impact on the game against the Porcupine Warriors which they eventually lost heavily as management declined to pay their three months salaries plus seven matches winning bonuses.
The Porcupine Warriors thrashed the Phobians 3-1 kind courtesy Saddick Adams’s first-half hat-trick that propelled them to a ninth FA Cup triumph at the Tamale Sports stadium.
But Saddick Adams who scored all three goals for Kotoko in the first half has taken a swipe against Abbey, telling him not to find excuses.
“When the club was owing you, you didn’t come out to say anything so why say it now? Thomas Abbey is just finding excuses which isn’t the best. Thomas knew it was a final match, so if you decide not to play they will bring the money. If I were Abbey, I wouldn’t have played the game. Now that they’ve lost the game, the player is at fault not management” he told Don Summer of Angel FM in Kumasi.
