The Nigeria Football Federation are set to miss out on Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham as he has reportedly opted to pledge his allegiance to England.
Abraham who has shown impeccable form this season was approached by Nigeria to commit his international future and reports claim that he declined.
According to English newspaper Telegraph, the 21-year-old will welcome the opportunity to feature for the Three Lions if he’s included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for next month’s European Championship qualifiers against Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
Southgate is expected to release his full squad on Thursday and many fans will be hoping to see the Chelsea star make the cut, while Nigeria might not be pleased otherwise.
Meanwhile, another Chelsea star Fikayo Tomori is equally tipped to create another international tug-of-war between both countries following his awesome start to his Chelsea career.
Tomori is reportedly is being monitored by Nigeria while England and Canada are also in the rapid race to get him on board.
