The founder of United Progressive Party, Akwasi Addae Odike has said the 2020 election is between him and the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and ruled out Mahama’s return to the highest office in Ghana.
Speaking on Angel FM, Odike said the former president has no vision and will not win the 2020 election.
“The election is between Nana Addo and Odike,” he said, “Mahama is not among [the main contenders].”
He described the former president’s decision to put together a team to write a manifesto as a bad move and “should have not been made public.”
According to the businessman cum politician, Mahama’s decision to rely on other people to write his manifesto for next year’s election is a clear indication of his lack of vision.
“Mahama cannot be President again. Mahama has no vision.”
“Someone who has vision will not parade people to a room and tell them to help him write his manifesto.”
He explained that if after becoming the vice president and president he still has no “clue” the challenges face the country then it means he lacks what it takes to lead the country again.
He further blamed the NPP for being the reason why Mahama can talk and campaign.
“Mahama has not said anything that has touched my heart since he declared his intention to run for president again,” he said.
“His rescue mission died on arrival.”
“Mahama is still Mahama and no matter what he will do” he will not come back.
“And the change Ghanaians are looking for is Odike.”
