Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko player, Frimpong Manso has supported his former club’s decision to play Accra Hearts of Oak before their match against Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
Manso, in an interview on Kessben FM, said the game against their arch-rivals will help his side prepare better ahead of the CAF Champions League game against the North African side.
According to him, the game will “push the boys to give out their best” especially when they played and lost of Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC a week ago.
While some fans of Kotoko wanted the game to be called off or the coach should use his second side to face their arch-rivals to avoid injuries, Manso said he does not support that idea.
“Most of the players are new”, therefore, it will be better for the coach to use the first team for them to get enough playing time before they face Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
The players can get injured even if they play a division two side, he explained so fielding the first eleven will help the team rather than sidelining them to protect them.
