Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor yesterday confirmed the order the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo, has issued for the arrest of Ghana Football Association president, Kwasi Nyantakyi.
Mr. Jinapor stated that, ‘the President has had the real privilege and benefit of aspects of this investigative piece. Having received these facts, the President upon consultation with his attorney and other stakeholders and experts in government is fully satisfied that a prima facie basis has been established for criminal investigation to be launched into regulations of Mr. Aremeyaw’s investigation.
In this documentary, Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi the president of the Ghana Football Association is supposedly seen attempting to use the name of the president, the vice president and other senior members of government to induce some so called potential investors into our country to part with some various sum of money.
The President takes a very serious view of this. The president thinks that this falls within potential confines of criminal conduct. He has since instructed the legally mandated state security agencies; the criminal investigation department of the Ghana police service to conduct investigations into this matter.
The criminal investigation department has since launched an investigation into this matter.’
Mr. Jinapor also clearly stated that the president’s ‘integrity and reputation is absolutely unquestionable even to the admiration of his opponents’ when he was interviewed on Joy News’ Top Story.
He further stated that the president has not discussed any business even on football matters with Kwasi Nyantakyi.
The issue is in the hands of the state security as investigations are being conducted.
