The weird reason why Gyan is being made the general captain of the Black Stars

Asamoah Gyan’s decision to retire from the Black Stars has come as a shock to Ghanaian football fans.

Gyan’s decision to retire a day before Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah announce his squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Egypt is something most people believe will overshadow the announcement.

According to unconfirmed reports, the reason why Asamoah Gyan was going to be made the general captain while Andre Dede Ayew will be made the substantive captain is related to the spiritual stuff.

According to the reports, Ghana can only win the African Cup if Dede Ayew captains the national team, therefore, for that to happen, Gyan must be relieved of his position by making him the general captain.

Gyan retired from the national team as the all-time leading top scorer and also the first player in the world to score in six consecutive tournaments.
