Arsenal’s Capturing of Thomas Party is a big statement.
Mikel Arteta is on the right track after moving heaven and earth to secure Partey’s signature. Arsenal is paying £45 million for his signature after meeting his release clause making him the most expensive Ghanaian footballer ever. Arteta definitely made the Arsenal hierarchy aware that Partey was going to be the last piece of Arsenal’s midfield jigsaw. In the midfield of Arsenal, Partey, 27, will be playing alongside Ceballos: which will leave Ceballos to create because of Partey’s great qualities. The Gunners are having a fantastic world-class midfielder since Cesc Fabregas left in 2011.

Anyone who isn’t yet convinced of Partey’s qualities should watch Atletico Madrid against Liverpool in the second leg of the 2019/2020 Uefa Champions League tie at Anfield especially in the second half and in the extra time: The Ghanaian international was exceptional. He has great stamina, great composure, fantastic stand tackle, he passes very well, defends good, shoots with some fine accuracy and very strong with or without the ball. He can play as a pivot, as a box-to-box midfielder, as a right-back as well.

It’s a good business for Arsenal considering the prices of some low-quality midfielders nowadays in the transfer market and the financial problems the teams are facing due to the Coronavirus. They are getting a fine midfielder and they should be happy. The North London kings have signed a player who’s entering his peak years. Arsenal are slowly going back to Wenger’s years when they used to sign players with a physical presence that no one could be bullied like Lehman, Sol Campbell, Gilberto Silva, Patrick Vieira, Thiery Henry who were the spine of the Gunners invincibles in the 2003/2004 season and were all 6ft plus players. Arteta’s spine will be undoubtedly Leno, Gabriel, Partey and Aubameyang who are all 6ft plus players with an immense physical presence.

I know most football fans will be wondering why Partey will leave Atletico Madrid who have been present in the champions league in recent seasons for a team that are struggling to even finish 5th or 6th. The answer is very simple: he was on €47,000 per week in Spain and he’s now going to earn over £200,000 per week at Arsenal. Who wouldn’t want his salary quadrupled? Besides, he’s getting the opportunity to play in the English Premier League which is the most-watched, popular and competitive league in the world which is definitely going to increase his fan base and popularity. London also is calling.
It’s been a while since we (Ghana) had a decent footballer after Micheal Essien. We thank God that finally, this move has materialized. Come on Partey!!! Entire Ghana is solidly behind you, go and make us proud. Partey after Partey.I know there will be a “PARTEY” at the Emirates. Good luck Thomas!! We do not doubt you.
