The MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong who has been a Member of Parliament for nearly two decades has revealed there is pressure on him to contest in 2020 although he wants to retire from politics and concentrate on his business as that is where he gets his money from.
Agyapong said on Adom TV yesterday that “Upon assumption, I realized education was low. Under Kufuor era, we needed drivers with English and Mathematics we could only get one. I made it a priority and put up school buildings and scholarship because [it] was difficult to get a university graduate but now you can see the number of schools and hospitals I have put up in the area as well as [sponsoring] hundreds of university graduates”
When asked if he would love to become the Speaker of Parliament, Majority or Minority leader, he emphasized that he wants to take a bow from politics and focus on his business.
“No!. I want better work to go and do and relax and you are talking about being a speaker. Speaker, they worry you everyday…I am not ready”
“What do I want it for. Young man, you want me to speak but I won’t say anything. I am doing my business and you say what? I have no interest in anything at all…business is my focus”, he revealed on the show.
