Ghanaian lawyer, Moses Foh-Amoaning has described UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s comment about helping African countries to legalize homosexuality as a ‘colonial mentality’.
During an interview on UTV, he stated that the UK government should know Ghanaians have their own customarily laws which frown on homosexuality.
‘She thinks they are still ruling us’, he said.
He described homosexuality as a bad thing which should not be accepted in our society.
‘The UK High Commissioner should stop moving from one station to another saying Ghana will legalize homosexuality’.
He asked him to respect our laws and wants the Foreign Minister to call him to order.
With regards to Nana Addo’s interview in which he said legalization of homosexuality is ‘bound to happen’, he said because the President got his law training from the UK it has made him a liberal.
Moses Foh-Amoaning also indicated that they are about to send a bill to Parliament to explain the country’s stand on homosexuality.
Because the President showed how spiritual he is during the 2016 election, he wants the President to take a spiritual and speak against homosexuality.
‘We know there are some people who are fighting against what we are trying to do but we don’t care about them’.
According to him, a national colloquium will be organized to put on paper and republish our customary laws to fight against homosexuality. The colloquium will include lawyers, traditional leaders, and psychologists amongst other.
After that, they will present their bill to parliament.
With regards to how some people become homosexuals, he said some have hormonal problems which can be corrected, others become homosexuals due to poverty while others especially girls become lesbians because when they were growing up, they were raped.
Moses, moreover, went on to say that a national day of prayer and fasting is ongoing to ask God to save Ghana from homosexuals.
He also revealed that they are aware some homosexuals meet at the USA embassy in Ghana and they have hired people to make sure that in 10 years’ time homosexuality will be accepted in West Africa.
He sent a message to the USA embassy telling him he will be reported to the USA State Department for what he is doing.
A Philippian pastor who according to Moses Foh-Amoaning was gay will attended a program here in Ghana to tell how God saved him from homosexuality.
He is optimistic that things will change as the prayers will cover a lot of things in the country and they will also pray for Africa.
