Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is set to appear in court over allegations of rape and sexual assault that was made public following a release from the Metropolitan Police in London.
According to reports reaching Citi Sports, Thomas Partey is scheduled to appear at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, 2025.
The 32 year old player whose five year contract with Arsenal ended on June 30, has been charged with five counts of rape and sexual assault involving three women between the period of 2021 and 2022.
Two rape charges involving one woman and three other rape charges involving another woman and one charge of sexual assault involving a different woman have been levelled against Thomas Partey.
Investigations into the case commenced in 2022 and during this period Partey was subjected to boos at English Premier League venues including Arsenal’s home ground, the Emirates Stadium.
Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid and despite battling several injuries in his five year stay at the club, he was a pivotal presence when available.
He won the UEFA Europa League, 2020-2021 Spanish League title and the UEFA Super Cup; at Arsenal, he won the Community Shield in 2023.
