Traders who ply their trade outside Prempeh College in Kumasi are angry at the school authorities.
The traders called Amanfuo Traders Union have been served notice to leave the area as they are going to use the land to build stores.
The traders during a demonstration told the school authorities that they pay 10 cedis every month and they sometimes even buy furniture for the students so they do not know why they want them to leave the area.
The traders indicated the school authorities told them they have been given permission by the traditional authorities to use the land to build stores.
The traders told the media that they have reported the issue to Bantamahene, Nana Baffour Asare Owusu Amankwatia IV who has also told them he does not support the building of the stores.
Nana Gyamfi, Bantamahene’s Linguist also told the media they will not allow the school authority to build the stores. He indicated, the issue has been reported to the police to make sure they stop the authorities from sacking the traders.
