Morocco’s U-23 team coach, Issame Charai, has expressed his team’s intention to exploit Ghana’s weaknesses and secure a favorable result when they face off in the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Both teams have tasted victory in their previous matches, with Morocco coming from behind to defeat Guinea 2-1, while Ghana managed a 3-2 win against Congo despite conceding late goals.
Charai, having observed Ghana’s game against Congo, acknowledged their formidable offensive threat and remarkable speed but also identified areas of vulnerability in their defense. In a pre-match interview, he stated, “We must remain focused, start the game strongly, and bear in mind that we are playing on home soil. Disappointing our nation is not an option.”
Charai emphasized the importance of collective effort, urging all Moroccans to play their part. He specifically called on the fans to rally behind the players from the beginning, citing their significant impact in the team’s first match against Guinea. “In our first match against Guinea, the fans’ unwavering support propelled us forward, making a notable impact,” he added.
The highly anticipated match will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium, with the victor advancing to the semi-finals of the tournament.
