On Thursday, June 22, 2023, a lecturer at the University of Ghana (UG) was reportedly the victim of a violent attack by armed robbers. The incident took place near the office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in Legon. According to a social media user named Raphael Akavani, who shared the information, the lecturer was confronted by the robbers who proceeded to assault him with cutlasses.
The attackers inflicted severe wounds on the lecturer’s hand and other parts of his body during the robbery attempt. They successfully stole various possessions belonging to the lecturer, including his laptop, phones, and other personal items. A picture shared on Twitter revealed the extent of the injuries sustained by the victim, particularly his badly injured right hand.
