The death of former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan has brought sadness to the world.
The 80-year Ghanaian diplomat spent all his working life with the United Nations and passed away peacefully in Bern, Switzerland with his family by his side.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner dies 27 years after the death of his twin sister, Efua Annan died in 1991.

Since the announcement of his death, tributes have been pouring in for the man who redefined the United Nations.
The President of Ghana, Nana Addo, after the announcement ordered all Ghanaian flag to fly at half-mast for a week to honour the late Bosomuru Kofi Atta Annan.
