While some people are praying for the day they will hit the jackpot in sports betting, one man called Kwame (his real name has been withheld) might never forget how he ended up not investing the amount of money he won.
A close friend of Kwame said his friend after winning over GHC 30, 000 first bought a second-hand car without letting an expert check if the car is in good shape or not.
The car the man bought broke down in less than a month and he started spending money on getting the car in shape.
Instead of investing the rest of the money, Kwame started spending the money on material things.
‘He will buy this today and buy that tomorrow’, his friend said.
Kwame, who is unemployed and lives in the Ashanti region kept on buying things he did not really need and also gave some of the money to people ‘thinking the money will be there forever’.
In less than 6 months, Kwame realized he was broke again and the only option he has now is to sell the car he bought which according to his friend is still in a bad shape.
He is now back to his old self and struggling to find a job too.
