Manchester United has sacked manager Jose Mourinho from the club. Mourinho was sacked after his 3-1 lost to United’s arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Mourinho, during his three years at Old Trafford, won the Europa League, Community Shield and the Carabao Cup.
This season, United has been struggling to score goals and also defend and is also lying 6th on the league table.
On Tuesday morning, the club announced that “Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect.
“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.
“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”

Mourinho was optimistic that his team could make the top four and qualify for the Champions League but he can no longer see that happen at United.
An interim coach is expected to replace the former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid manager until the end of the season.
