On a sunny Saturday, July 22, the illustrious Patron of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, graced the Adako Jachie Sports Complex, the team’s training facility. Accompanied by revered club legends, dedicated supporters’ leadership, and esteemed stakeholders, the revered king embarked on a visit to gain first-hand knowledge about the ongoing developments at the facility.
Dressed in a dignified long-sleeved outfit, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II arrived at the complex to a warm and enthusiastic reception, with hundreds of people, including club officials, ex-players, and devoted fans, gathered to pay their respects. As he made his way through the crowd, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement.
During the tour, Otumfuo took the time to personally greet club officials and exchange warm handshakes with former players, sharing smiles and memories of their time on the field together.
The day before, on Friday, July 21, an essential meeting took place at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, where Asante Kotoko’s owner, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, convened with the club’s esteemed former players and dedicated supporters. The purpose of this gathering was to strategize and pave the way for success in the upcoming season.
During the meeting, Otumfuo entrusted the task of finding a new head coach to lead the Porcupine Warriors to the capable hands of former Black Stars head coach, Kwasi Appiah. It was a significant responsibility bestowed upon him, one that held the key to the team’s future achievements.
As anticipation for the forthcoming season grew, there were reports from Opensuo Radio that former coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum had been appointed by Asante Kotoko SC to guide the club towards greatness in the upcoming campaign.
