Singer, Anokye Supremo also called Daddy Lumba Jnr has now lost his sight. Not long ago, it was reported that the musician is losing his sight and needs money to undergo surgery to regain his sight.
Supremo said in an interview on Kofi TV yesterday that he has done lots of tests at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital but they can not find exactly what is wrong with him. Apart from the test, they keep delaying his results and it has made it difficult for him to get a referral letter from Korle Bu.
He added that he feels that there is something in his head which moves whenever he turns his head.
Supremo told Kofi Adoma during the interview that an Indian doctor he was asked to see was shocked when he saw him. The Indian doctor told him they have ‘delayed’ him too much so the only thing he can do is to send him to India to undergo surgery. The doctor told him it’s a tumour and needs to go to India for the operation at a cost of $10, 000.
Supremo who was shedding tears during the interview also said he cannot taste anything when he is eating. ‘The only thing I can taste now is coconut water’, he said.
Apart from that he also struggles to sleep and has to rely on people before he can do anything.
Born Emmanuel Kwame Anokye, the Hi-Life singer is well known for his resemblance to his idol, Charles Kwadwo ‘Daddy Lumba’ Fosu. He performed on various stages with his idol until he was sued by him for using his name to get contracts.
He then changed his name from Daddy Lumba Jnr to Anokye Supremo and started promoting his own songs.
However, the tumour in his head has made it difficult for him to work and also promote his songs.
