Kumasi Asante Kotoko has beaten Berekum Chelsea 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to extend their lead to 13 points as leaders of Zone B.
The Porcupine Warriors went into the match as favourites but they had to wait until the 51st minute before they could break the deadlock.
Emmanuel Gyamfi scored the first goal through a header from Jordan Opoku’s cross to put his side into the lead.
Gyamfi could have made it two in four minutes later but he could not find the back of the net when he was one-on-one with Berekum Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Gideon Ahenkorah.
Fatawu made it two from the penalty spot in the 69th minute after Obed Owusu was fouled in the 18-yard box.
Fatawu chipped the ball into the middle after he waited for the goalkeeper to move.
