A fuel station attendant has found himself in a problematic situation for allegedly attempting to deceive a petroleum consumer.
In a widely circulated video captured by GhanaWeb Business, the attendant was observed employing deceitful tactics to overcharge a customer for fuel.
The attendant, identified as ‘Kofi’ at a Shell station, is accused of entering a fuel purchase amount of GH¢1,150 into the system while providing the customer with only GH¢886 worth of fuel.
It appears that the attendant thought the customer would not notice the discrepancy, but the consumer quickly detected the irregularity.
Upon realizing that he had been caught, the attendant knelt down to seek forgiveness from the customer.
“Kofi, you registered a fuel purchase of GH¢1,150 on the screen while giving me fuel worth only GH¢886. You thought I wouldn’t notice? The car has a camera, and I was silently observing you,” the frustrated customer said during the confrontation.
While recording the incident with his phone, the customer added, “Look at me, I’m sending this to your Director… Is this the kind of practice you engage in here? You provided me with GH¢886 worth of fuel, but you entered GH¢1,150, and you probably intended for me to pay with a card so you could claim the excess money!”
