The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, yesterday during his 5-day tour of the Ashanti said his government has good policies for the country .
Speaking to the public, Nana Addo said: “We have put in place policies that good and if we succeed it bring development to Ghana and it will uplift Asanteman as well.”
One of the policies he said, is the Double Track system which is yet to be implemented this year.
“The policy is going to succeed”, Nana Addo said.
He expounded that due to the Free SHS policy, there is going to be an upsurge in the number of students who will be going to school in September, therefore, the Double Track system is needed to admit more students. According to Nana Addo, last year over 90, 000 students were enrolled under the Free SHS policy and this year over 150, 000 students are expected to go to school.
He delineated that Ghana is not the only or first country to introduce such a policy.
“The double-track system is going to work and it is going to work brilliantly”.
Moreover, he added that he hears all the things people say, saying: “I hear all the things people say”.
“I pick those that are good and if it is bad I will not listen to it”, the President said.
The President before meeting with the people had a closed-door meeting with leaders of the Muslim communities.
