Former President John Dramani Mahama has called on the supporters of the National Democratic Congress to be vigilant so as to prevent the ruling New Patriotic Party from rigging the 2020 elections.
According to him, the NPP won the 2016 elections through unfair means.
“We have to work hard because election 2020 is not going to be easy,’’ he said.
“But we have to be united and work hard. We have to protect the ballot box and prevent what occurred in 2016 from repeating itself. We will match them boot for boot. We will prevent all their schemes and I am sure God will prolong our lives; give us strength to work for victory 2020. God will surely grant us long life to witness victory 2020,’’ he added.
Mahama made these comments while addressing some party supports in Assin Central in the Central Region.
The former President launched his campaign this week in the Central Region with the hope of winning the election in 2020.
Mahama was able to garner 44.4% of the total votes as the sitting President in the 2016 election which he believes was not fair.
