Black Stars midfielder, Mohammed Kudus, was reportedly close to joining Chelsea after both sides agreed on personal terms. However, the deal fell apart.
According to his agent, Jennifer Mendelewitsch, the agreement couldn’t be finalized because Chelsea refused to meet Ajax’s €40 million asking price. In an interview with RMC, Mendelewitsch stated that Chelsea offered to pay only half of the asking price, a proposition Ajax turned down.
In an unexpected turn of events, West Ham United stepped in and agreed to meet Ajax’s financial demands, successfully securing the signing of the talented Ghanaian player.
Since his move to West Ham, Kudus has made a promising start, scoring three goals despite receiving limited playing time. He has yet to start a Premier League game for the club in five matches, accumulating a total of 72 minutes on the field and scoring one goal. However, he has been featured as a starter in three out of eight games, with these appearances occurring in the Europa League and the English Football League Cup.
