This is not the first sometime something like this is happening. Just like how the NPP acted when Mahama appointed Charlotte Osei, the NDC has started doing the same.
When Charlotte Osei was appointed by the then President Mahama to lead the EC, photos of her contesting for a position in NDC suddenly surfaced on social media.
Although the photos looked real, the power of Photoshop might have been at work.
And no one will be surprised if the then opposition party, NPP knew something about those photos.
Surprisingly, there were reports that MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong stated that Charlotte Osei had sex with the President before she was given the position.
Yet, none of the allegations that were levelled against her gained grounds as she became the EC Chair until she was removed from her position by President Nana Addo.
Now, it is the turn of the NDC to also do the same thing the NPP did when they were in government.
Four people have been appointed by the President, namely, Jean Mensah as the new EC boss, Samuel Tettey and Dr Eric Asare Bossman as the deputies and Adwoa Asuama Abrefa as a member of the commission.
Surprisingly, the main opposition party has no problem with Samuel Tettey and Adwoa Asuama Abrefa’s appointment.
Their problem, nonetheless, is with the appointments of Jean Mensah and Dr Bossman.
Below is the statement the NDC released after the appointment of the soon to be EC boss.
With Dr Eric Asare Bossman, they did not release any official statement to express their displeasure but the Deputy Secretary General of the NDC, Koku Anyido was the first to come out and link him to the ruling party.
In an interview with an Accra based Asempa FM, he said “when you have a deputy like Dr Bossman Asare, as for him, his socks is NPP, his underpants is NPP, his singlets, NPP, toothbrush NPP, his handkerchief NPP, his toothpaste NPP, his bedsheet NPP, his bathing sponge, NPP, that even makes matters worse for Jean Mensa too, because Dr Asare doesn’t hide his NPP coloration”.
Moreover, he also said Dr Bossman doesn’t hide his NPP colours from ‘his students’.
Though people are linking Adwoa Asuama Abrefa to be a family member of the former Prime Minister of Ghana, Dr Kofi Abrefa Busia, the NDC seems not to have a problem with it as it has not been confirmed.
The question now is, is the NDC saying the truth or they are doing what the NPP did to them when they appointed Charlotte Osei to lead the EC?
