A group of five Fulani herdsmen are being accused of allegedly gang-raping a woman in her early 40s in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region. The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday morning when the suspects, armed with guns, cutlasses, and other weapons, stormed the victim’s house along with her husband and attacked them. The husband was tied up with a rope and had his mouth bandaged to prevent him from shouting. They then dragged his wife into a nearby bush and allegedly raped her.
According to reports from Kasapa News, the suspects took turns assaulting the victim and threatened to kill her if she shouted for help. After the assault, they tied her up with a rope and left her in the bush until residents conducted a search and brought her home. The suspects also stole ten cows belonging to the victim’s husband, but they were unable to transport them.
The suspects attempted to flee with the cows in a sprinter bus with registration number GG-2766-21, but the owner’s shouts drew the attention of armed residents who approached them. The suspects then abandoned the cattle and fled the scene. The angry residents vandalized the vehicle and nearly set it on fire.
The incident has been reported to the Gomoa Ojobi Police for investigation. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
