In a horrifying incident that has left the community in shock, a woman in her late 60s has been discovered dead, leading authorities to suspect foul play. The unfortunate incident took place between Apesokubi and Kaboso in the Biakoye district of the Oti region.
According to initial reports, the woman had left her home on Saturday to attend a funeral in Apesokubi. However, her neighbors grew concerned when she failed to return and remained unseen for two days. Their worst fears were confirmed when her lifeless body was found in a pit latrine near her compound, revealing the extent of the brutality inflicted upon her.
The victim, known by the name Daa Yaa among the residents, had suffered the gruesome removal of her tongue, breasts, and private parts. The heinousness of the crime has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving them in a state of both grief and fear.
In response to the incident, local law enforcement, accompanied by a medical team from Worawora Hospital, promptly arrived at the village. Given the advanced state of decomposition, the medical experts advised that the victim be buried without delay. Meanwhile, a comprehensive investigation into the murder has been launched, though no suspects have been apprehended thus far.
