A 25-year-old woman is currently fighting for her life after being attacked and raped by a group of five armed robbers suspected to be herdsmen. The incident took place in Gomoa Ojobi, located in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Following the attack, the suspects proceeded to Awutu Ahentia and made off with over 10 cows, but were unable to transport them to their intended destination due to being chased by other herdsmen.
The suspects quickly fled from the Ojobi community, abandoning their Sprinter bus with the license plate number GG 2766-21, which was subsequently vandalized by angry residents.
In a statement to an Angel News Correspondent, the Fulanis Chief of Gomoa Ojobi, Haskan Garu Imorro, expressed his disgust at the appalling and inhumane nature of the incident. He revealed that the suspects had overpowered the woman’s husband, tying him up with rope before taking his wife to a nearby bush where they raped her.
The incident is a reminder of the dangers faced by residents in the area, and highlights the need for increased security measures to prevent future attacks of this nature.
