Madam Adwoa Owusua, a member of the NDC party has cursed a party official in her constituency. The incident happened after she was disqualified from contesting in their upcoming constituency elections.
Narrating her story, Madam Adwoa Owusua said she was at the venue 30 minutes before the start of her vetting and she met only one person when she got there.
The vetting which was supposed to start at 9 am started around 10 am as the official responsible for the vetting was an hour late.
The official whose name was given as Esam, did not greet Madam Adwoa Owusua when he entered the building.
Madam Owusua said she asked him 3 minutes later why he did not greet her. This according to her got Esam angry who responded by asking her ‘how can he greet her when she was talking to someone?’
Madam Owusua further explained that she did not talk again as she did not like the things Esam was saying.
When the vetting started, those contesting for the chairman position were vetted first. When it got to their turn, she was expecting to be vetted first since she was the first person there. Instead, they called her opponent who was at the venue at 2:30 pm.
Her opponent spent 2 minutes at the vetting room.
When, she was finally called, she said Esam asked her unnecessary questions. She was asked ‘if she was Ghanaian, when did she join the party, is it true she is from Togo’, and so on.
She asked Esam why he was asking her unnecessary questions as it was not the first time she was being vetted.
This, according to Madam Owusua, again got Esam angry. Esam then told her she has been disqualified from contesting as Women’s Organiser at Ahafo Ano South Constituency.
Madam Owusua also said in 2014, she lost by 3 votes when she contested for the same position.
Attempts by some of the party officials in the constituency proved futile as Esam stood by his word of disqualifying her.
This got her angry as she believes she was not fairly treated.
Madam Owusua said she bought an egg called the 30 gods and cursed Esam.
