After years of complains, the roads in Ashanti Region are set to receive a facelift.
Residents in the region, especially those in the capital, Kumasi, Obuasi and Manso, for some years have been crying for their roads to the fixed.
The roads which were first constructed decades ago will be given an extensive improvement instead of the usual pothole filling.
From Tech Junction, one will clearly see how bad the roads are. The Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah last week met with the contractors who have been awarded the contract to work on the roads.
Although not all the roads have been given to contractors to work on, it is expected that some of the contracts will be given this week.
Last week Saturday, the roundabout at Ejisu was removed to signal the start of the work on the roads.
The roads when completed will not only improve the state of the roads but will also reduce the traffic as some of the roads will be expanded.
Nhyieso, Tech Junction, Airport Roundabout, Oforikrom, Manhyia are among the places that have had their roads already awarded to contractors.
