Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, C. K. Akonnor has debunked rumours that the club’s poster boy, Sogne Yacouba does not want to play for the club again.
C.K made the revelation during the post-match press conference between Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea last week at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
“He is injured, he’s injured. I think you need to get the facts right. He’s seriously injured. Yacouba is injured,” he said when he was asked about if the player will ever play for the club again.
Adding, he stated that “what you hear outside is for you” because “it sells” for you, he explained.
The injury, he said is an ankle injury and they are hoping he will be fine in time to help the team.
There have been reports that Yacouba has told the club he will not play for the club again. Although Kotoko has announced that the player is for sale, it has also officially been communicated that the player will leave when they get the right offer.
