The Post understands Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s striker, Sogne Yacouba is not willing to play for the club after he was declared fit by the team’s doctors.
Yesterday, it was reported that the Burkinabe striker has been declared fit, however, he has told officials of the club he will not play again.
According to one report, the player is said to have told the officials he does not feel he is fit and as a result, he did not train with the team.
Sarfo Duku in an interview confirmed that the player has been declared fit by the doctors and he is expected to start training.
“Yacouba Songne has been finally declared fit by the medical team of Asante Kotoko SC and he is available for selection if he fits into the coach’s tactics,” Kotoko spokesperson Sarfo Duku told Nhyira FM.
”Management expects him to start training today.”
Yacouba last played for the club during the CAF Confederation Cup match against Al Hilal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. He is yet to feature for the club as he got an injury before the start of the Normalisation Committee Special Cup.
