Fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko will have to wait for a while before they see their striker, Sogne Yacouba back on the pitch.
According to reports gathered, the reason why the Burkinabe striker did not feature over the weekend is that his working permit has expired.
Yacouba last played for Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup against Al Hilal in Kumasi. Since then there have been rumours and reports that the player has one foot away from Kotoko albeit it was also reported that Yacouba is recovering from an ankle injury.
According to the report, Kotoko has already applied for a working permit for their star striker but it is not yet available.
The laws of Ghana forbids foreigners from accept employment in Ghana unless they are granted a Ghana work permit or Immigrant quota work permit.
The Post understands C.K Akonnor wanted to add Yacouba to his starting eleven in their game against regional rivals, Obuasi Ashanti Gold but due to his expired working permit, he was unable to play in the game.
It is not clear when Yacouba’s working permit will be available but one thing that clear is that fans of Kotoko will have to wait until the Ghana Immigration Service calls Yacouba to come for his permit.
